Giving Back
McKay & Byerley contributes to the community and culture of Kansas City
John McKay has been active in serving as a guardian ad litem appointed by the Family Court in Jackson County, Missouri for children seeking adoption. David Byerley currently serves on the Board of Directors for the KC Blind All-Stars a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the Kansas State School for the Blind.
Our Office
Our office building was built over a hundred years ago [1895] to be part of a brewery. Because of its age and what it was built to be, the architecture is unusual. Most of our clients say, “It reminds me of a toy castle.” McKay & Byerley Law Offices has received the Preservation Award from the Historic Kansas City Foundation as well as the Cornerstone Award from the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City in recognition of the law office’s contribution to Kansas City’s economic strength and development.
